Time after Time

Photobucket

Recently, Weardrobe and Market Publique, the vintage marketplace, teamed up to put together the Time after Time contest on Weardrobe.com. The task was to put together a vintage look, post it to Weardrobe and gather as many "likes" or votes to advance to the finals. From there, Market Publique selected the winner out of the final 25, and.. drum roll.. Studio Swag won!!!

The Prize: a trip to NYC to do a photo shoot for Market Publique's lookbook, plus $100 worth of items courtesy of Market Publique. The shoot is scheduled for mid October and cannot wait to share the pics with you guys!!
This is just proof that a little blog like mine can win it big! :)

Throughout this entire process, I have been preparing myself to receive an email that reads "SIKE!" LOL But I've pinched myself a couple of times, and I am pretty sure I am not dreaming! In all seriousness, I am so grateful and couldn't of asked for anyone better than Krystal from Weardrobe + Pamela from Market Publique. They have been super sweet and so easy to work with already, that I know only great things will come out of this! Just want to say a big THANK YOU to them!! xx
Excited about the shoot and CANNOT wait! Yeah!

Jenny from the Block

I wore this outfit to a poolside cocktail party in New Orleans. I feel like I always overdress to everything around here, but it's all in an effort to make my life seem more fabulous than it really is. I was referred to as "J-Lo" more times than I can count, guess it was the hat.

I am really in love with these shorts from UO. Okay. They are short. Incredibly short. But tasteful, I think, due to the high waistline.

Forever Young

I know I keep apologizing for being inconsistent, but this time it's for legitimate reasons. One being that I went to California for a week, and when I came back, I immediately uploaded all the pictures that I wanted to share with you guys. Shortly after, my computer completely crashes! After much investigation (and by that I mean taking a screwdriver to the underside of my computer and blowing into it like an old school Nintendo) I come to realize that I am not a Mac Genius and should probably make an appointment. So I did + find from Apple that the motherboard of my macbook is shot! Just in time for school next week... So depressing. :(
Since then, all of my pictures are trapped inside my laptop. Hopefully I can recover them, among other things, so stay tuned...

On a lighter note, the other reason I've been away is that..

I've been celebrating mah birthday!!

As you may know, the bf and I share the day, so it's always major! (hence, the SF trip) The calm before the storm was dinner at John Besh's LUKE restaurant with 20 of our closest friends. Then the real party was the following morning at the annual Red Dress Run! Sneak peek:

The Red Dress Run is a huge New Orleans charity event where both men and women dress up in red dresses and hop from designated bars mapped out through the French Quarter (particularly, Bourbon Street). Thousands come out + it's a Hotttt Mess!! Literally! It's 100 degrees out there, but it's the most fun you will ever have in your life!! Better than Mardi Gras! Scout's honor.
Here's a taste of the mayhem that is the Red Dress Run:

Pugs + Kisses

Photobucket
(Topshop tank, UO cardigan + necklace, No name jeans, Aldo shoes, Dior shades, Lucky bag)

Headed out for a dinner + a movie. I'm going to watch Inception.. again. Wish I could take my Baby Presley with me. (PS - He's named after his daddy, Elvis.) Speaking of movies - have you ever seen the documentary, Valentino: The Last Emperor, where it showcases his heard of pugs? He has five that follow him at all times. I swear, I think I was more interested in the scenes with the dogs than the clothes. lol

So happy that AUGUST is here! It's my birth month, which of course a Leo would claim a birth month. It's really special because my boyfriend and I share a birthday - He's the 12th of August, I'm the 13th. Although, I was born in Japan so maybe we technically share the same birthday since it's a day ahead! lol Anyways, we are leaving in a few days to San Francisco/Napa Valley. Any Recommendations??
