NOLA Fashion Week is dedicated to the development of the fashion industry in New Orleans and throughout the South.
NOLA Fashion Week is back for its second season! Building on the success of it's debut week in March 2011 (see
here), NOLAFW is bringing us a weeklong series of events filled with educational workshops, a fashion market, and of course, the fashion shows!
The educational workshops have been revamped this season to include new subjects from
editorial styling and fashion illustration to textile dying and hatmaking, taught by industry insiders and
experts. You can buy your tickets
here. (They're going fast!)
The fashion market will be a greater component this season to introduce the community to smaller
designers and boutiques. From 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Thursday and Friday, over 20 different artists,
designers and stores will have pop-up shops in the Ogden Museum where visitors can shop, support and meet local creatives.
The
fashion shows will be featuring
seven talented Southern designers which will present their Spring 2012 collection in the amazing Patrick F. Taylor library in the Ogden Museum and one will have a presentation at the beautiful Martine Chaisson Gallery (see
here).
