Versona Accessories recently celebrated their grand opening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  They were kind enough to invite me, and in the midst of all of NOLAFW, I kindly obliged.  I didn't know what to expect of the store, but was so impressed at how HUGE the selection is, and when I say "huge" - I mean endless.  Luckily I was able to limit myself to the pieces seen in the first photo.  Great price points and a great addition to Baton Rouge.  Thanks a bunch Versona!

NOLA FW SS12

Photobucket

New Orleans Fashion Week's Spring 2012 Collections walked down the runway last week at the incredibly beautiful Ogden Museum of Southern Art.  The shows + events throughout the week made all the locals swell with pride.  Of course none of it could have been possible with out the efforts of the Co-founders Andi Eaten + Nick Landry, the NOLA Fashion Council, and Sparkle Beetle Communications!  This is the second Fashion Week they have brought to this city, and it just keeps getting better - the execution is beyond impressive!  Ready for Season 3!

(My camera's battery died early in the night, so most of these photos are "borrowed" from my blogger bff, Juley from Swank Heights.  You can see the rest of her behind the scene photos at her facebook here.)

Just a quick outfit post of what I wore to the closing night of NOLAFW this weekend.  (Can't you tell I've been taking full advantage of ZARA.com lately?)
Stay tuned for my next post, a look back at New Orleans's biggest night in Fashion!  xx

Jackfroot Interview

Photobucket

Recently, I was approached by Derick Lee of Jackfroot.com to do an interview about Studio Swag.  Given his architectural background, I was thankful that his questions were evenly weighed between my thoughts on fashion and that of my primary profession.  Not only am I grateful for the interest, but I am particularly excited to be a part of Jackfroot, a new media + entertainment company specifically geared towards highlighting the skills and talents within the Asian-American community.

Frock Rockin' Bloggers

Photobucket

I was thrilled when local boutique and online megastore, Frock Candy, approach me to do an exclusive interview for their Frock Rockin' Bloggers segment on their FC blog.  To be a part of a list with these stylish "bloggers that rock" is such an honor.  A big thank you to Frock Candy!

You can read that interview and peek at my Frock Candy Picks here.

NOLAFashionWeek

NOLA Fashion Week is dedicated to the development of the fashion industry in New Orleans and throughout the South.

NOLA Fashion Week is back for its second season!  Building on the success of it's debut week in March 2011 (see here), NOLAFW is bringing us a weeklong series of events filled with educational workshops, a fashion market, and of course, the fashion shows!

The educational workshops have been revamped this season to include new subjects from
editorial styling and fashion illustration to textile dying and hatmaking, taught by industry insiders and
experts.  You can buy your tickets here.  (They're going fast!)

The fashion market will be a greater component this season to introduce the community to smaller
designers and boutiques. From 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Thursday and Friday, over 20 different artists,
designers and stores will have pop-up shops in the Ogden Museum where visitors can shop, support and meet local creatives.

The fashion shows will be featuring seven talented Southern designers which will present their Spring 2012 collection in the amazing Patrick F. Taylor library in the Ogden Museum and one will have a presentation at the beautiful Martine Chaisson Gallery (see here).
